How to resize an image
Choose an image and its current width and height appear. Type a new width or height in pixels. With Keep aspect ratio ticked, the other value changes automatically so the picture is not stretched. Pick PNG, JPEG or WebP and press Resize and Download.
Resizing is useful when a form asks for an exact size such as 200 x 230 pixels, or when you want a smaller photo for email and social media. Untick Keep aspect ratio only if you need an exact width and height and accept some stretching.
Frequently asked questions
Is my image uploaded?
No. The image is resized inside your browser and never leaves your device.
What is the largest size I can set?
Width and height can each be from 1 to 12000 pixels.
Which output format should I choose?
Use JPEG for photos, PNG when you need sharp edges or transparency, and WebP for small files on websites.
Does resizing reduce the file size?
Usually yes when you make the image smaller in pixels. To shrink the file further, use the Image Compressor as well.
Can I resize an image to exact pixels?
Yes. Enter the exact width and height in pixels. Untick Keep aspect ratio if you need an exact size.
What is Keep aspect ratio?
It changes the other side automatically so the picture is not stretched or squeezed.
Can I resize photos for forms?
Yes. Many forms ask for a set size in pixels. Resize first, then use the Compress tool if the file is still too large.
