QR Code Generator

Enter a URL or text, create a QR code and download it.

Your files are processed in this browser. An internet connection may be needed to load QR/PDF libraries.

How to create a QR code

Type or paste a link or any text into the box, choose a size and press Generate QR Code. The code appears straight away and you can download it as a PNG image to print or share.

A QR code is a square barcode that phones read with the camera. It can hold a website link, a phone number, a Wi-Fi name or plain text. Longer text makes a denser code, so for the best scanning keep links short and choose a larger size when you plan to print.

Frequently asked questions

Is the QR code free, and does it expire?

It is free and has no watermark. The code simply holds the text you typed, so it never expires. If the link inside stops working, the QR code will stop working with it.

Which size should I choose?

Use 256 x 256 for screens and 384 or 512 for printing. A bigger image stays sharp when you enlarge it on a poster or card.

Is my text sent to a server?

No. The code is created inside your browser, so what you type is not uploaded. The page only needs an internet connection to load the QR library.

How can I check that the code works?

Open your phone camera, point it at the screen or printout and open the link it shows. Test it once before printing many copies.

What can I put in a QR code?

A website link, plain text, a phone number or any short text.

Can I print the QR code?

Yes. Download the PNG and print it. A larger size prints sharper.

Does the QR code stop working after some time?

No. The code simply contains your text, so it works as long as the link or information inside is still valid.
